WES Instructor Megan Roughley is returning to Learning To Listen the first weekend in July to run another of her ever popular Western Riding Clinics.
The clinics now run over Saturday and Sunday to make it more accessible, but other than that there is no change.
Groups are kept small and like abilities are teamed up to create tailored training for you and your horse. Horses can be hired from LTL at a small charge, and if you bring your own horse livery is included in the price of £140 for the weekend. You don’t need Western tack to take part, just an open mind and a desire to have fun!
Topics covered over the weekend may include introduction to Western aids, tack fitting, trail, reining, showing etiquette, barrell racing, cow herding and Western games.
Places are limited. Call Alex on 01765 689368 or email info@learningtolisten.co.uk for more info.

  Hard not to fancy!

Hello Everyone,
What an exciting day for me today as I am off to see Take That www.takethat.com/video/ in Manchester tonight. I had bought my sister tickets to go and see them at Wembley on the 4th July but she is worried about being in London on that weekend!!! What a shame, so we are off tonight. So I have 2 tickets if anyone wants to bid for them. Is this where we need to buy new nickers & bras to throw onto the stage? Well best be getting ready, it takes longer these days. Then I’m off to our wonderful flat for the weekend
www.luxuryapartmentyork.co.uk. Available to rent if anyone wants a trip to York.
Well I hope you all have the most beautiful weekend and just remember

The only person that can make you happy is YOU’

Have a good one

Team Building Days At Learning To Listen

Hello Everyone,
I can’t tell you how interesting it is to see things fall into place. I have learnt these very simple concepts from the horses & developed them for people. They are all about becoming more aware of yourself & others & learning how to get along better. The two photos above are of an adult team building day & a kid team building day. Same exercises, same concepts, just different age ranges.

We have had some local schools up recently for team building days. I think it is a great idea for kids to learn how to get along better, improve their communication skills & think outside the box when dealing with adversity. Great days. Sarah, one of our teachers has written about it on her blog.

We have soooo many things coming up, horse courses, Mind, Body & Spirit workshops and of course another Warrior Programme. We are all kept on our toes up here at the moment. Keep a look out on our e-shots, blogs & dates for diary for all our summer events.
Take care
Sarah

Equine Facilitate Training At Learning To Listen

Hello All,
What an awesome week we had on our Warrior Programme last week. The photos above are of one of our exercises with the heading of TRUST. It’s so funny how we want the horses to trust us but how we need to learn to trust the horses & people too. A very powerful exercise.

Well we are on such a journey up here at Learning To Listen. I personally am having the time of my life. 10 years ago I had a dream. I dreamt I would be able to help people understand their horses better. 5 years ago I had another dream. I wanted to help kids that had had a difficult start to life. 3 years ago I had another dream. I wanted to help people. Anyone who was looking for guidance on how to understand lifes rich tapestry. Well sitting here right now is the most amazing feeling because dreams really do come true everyone! I have been able to do all this and guess what I’m going for my next one!

Believe. That is all I can tell you. I am no-one, from no-where & the climb has been steep, but now sitting at the top of this mountain the view is truly worth it. My team are the coolest people ever & we are all getting ready for our next journey - mountain to climb - so look out world!

My quote for today

‘If you’re not laughing or learning why are you doing it?’

Have a good one

Equine Assisted Training at Learning To Listen

Hey everyone,
How’s it going? I have been told today by our website design company Bronco www.bronco.co.uk
I need to title my blogs with something interesting not just my name so I’ve tried this one tonight.

I totally love this work we are doing on The Warrior Programme. Working with the horses helping people to  develope their communication skills, awearness of others & how they look to others is so cool. The horses are amazing to watch. If you look at the photos above you can see that Liv was uncomfortable being close to Leslea. I asked her what she was thinking about and she said she was looking at how tense she was in her life & how her energy had risen in her body. Liv wouldn’t move any closer. Then when Leslea moved on to relaxing & clearing her mind, Liv moved & stood right over the top of her. So cool to see.

Another great day up here on our Leadership day, the group are making some real breakthroughs. You here comments like, ‘I didn’t realise I was doing that’, or ‘I want to be better at putting in fair boundries’. You know when you just know what you are born to do……

A quote that came up today..

‘If you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll keep getting what you’re getting’

Take care
Sarah

Good evening all,
Just finished a great first day with my new Musha (Means Warrior in Japanese) group. My New Programme is called The Warrior Programme but there a 3 different ways to take it. Musha is the 5 day fast track, then there is the Kola, 5 x 1 day spread apart (mean brother Warrior in Native American) & then there’s the Samurai package for a more advanced package. Well the girls did amazing today. The sun was upon them while they worked on the ‘You’ section. Tomorrow we move on to Leadership.

There always seems to be so much to tell you that I don’t know where to start.  We are looking at our whole website design at the moment so if you have any ideas on how we can improve, let us know.

We have some great Mind, Body & Spirit work shops coming up. Anna-Louise Haigh www.anna-louisehaigh.com has just published her book The Spirit Whisperer & is running her first clinic at LtL at the end of June called Your Animal Guide & You. Interesting stuff, although when my son tells me he can see people at the bottom of his bed it does freak me out a bit! Any suggestions?

I need to try & keep up my quotes for you as I think they can sometimes come when you need a lift, so here goes

‘Ordinary people with commitment can make an extraordinary impact in the world’

& guess what, I’m ordinary!

 Take care
Sarah
